In today’s interconnected world, social media platforms are more than just communication tools - they have become battlegrounds for influence, power, and conflict.

Against this backdrop, Aspen Germany and Transatlantic Hub will host a dynamic panel discussion in Munich exploring the role of social media in geopolitics, digital content creation, and the erosion of democracies.

Bringing together voices from government, the tech industry, and content creators, this timely conversation will focus on how digital platforms shape and are shaped by geopolitical dynamics. Key themes will include the role of authoritarian regimes such as Russia in weaponizing disinformation to gain political influence, the use of digital tools to polarize societies, and the challenges of safeguarding democratic discourse in an age of sophisticated information warfare.
